The production-editorial processes for these books are highly complex, involving coordination of many activities (e.g., copyediting, art production, design, author relations) on tight, and sometimes conflicting, schedules. Primary job requirements are to coordinate activities of the author; in-house functions such as desktop publishing, photo-research; and outside resources such as typesetters, freelancers, illustrators, etc. to produce products to CPS’s quality standards and to meet planned schedules and budgets. The position may also oversee the external project management of a small number of titles as delegated by the Publishing manager.
